Job Description
Dakota Fabrication, Inc. has an immediate need to hire a Welder Helper. We are currently looking for a welder helper, or those with experience in the Construction Industry that want to work in pipe welding and steel fabrication.

Hours:
Monday - Thursday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Friday 6:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to follow instructions and work well with others on the team.
- Use manual and power tools for grinding applications
- Utilizing knowledge of various machines, welding practices, and building materials.
- Performing all job functions and using all equipment safely by following all safety policies and good housekeeping practices.
- Handling other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Metal fabrication experience a plus, preferably in welding.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and understand tape measurers and calculators.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.
- The employee frequently is required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Shop Environment:
- Exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and heat (proper PPE & safety training will be provided)
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud, proper hearing protection provided.

Climbing ladders, scaffolds, or crawling in confined spaces are common tasks.
Pipefitters need to handle tools and materials with precision, especially when assembling or making adjustments to machinery.
They use their hands and fingers to grasp, move, and manipulate objects, including small parts.
Making precise adjustments to machine controls requires fine motor control and hand-eye coordination.
Good vision, including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, is essential for reading plans, inspecting work, and operating machinery.
The ability to hear alarms, equipment sounds, and communication on the job site is also important.
Pipefitters may be exposed to various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.), and work in noisy and dusty environments
