JOB SUMMARY
Perform journeyman-level welding, fabrication, and mechanical work in the repair, maintenance, and rebuilding of City-owned vehicles and equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or GED certification with completion of a program in welding from a vocational/technical school and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a welder; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority. |
American Welding Society GMAW D1.1 certification is desired. |
Willing to work weekends, holidays, nights, and extended hours in emergencies at times under adverse weather conditions. |
Must possess hand tools up to 1 inch in size suitable for repair of light and heavy automotive and construction equipment. |
Must possess or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire a valid Class B commercial driver’s license with tanker endorsement. |

The City participates in the South Dakota Retirement System. Employees receive a 6% match. Additionally, employees may choose to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.
