The Lincoln County Highway Department welcomes applications for a Winter Equipment Operator! If you like helping others stay safe on the road, this may be the job for you!
Examples of Duties Include:
The Winter Equipment Operator will perform snow and ice removal for County roads, respond to emergency calls, as well as perform a variety of construction work. The hours for this position vary, but ideally the applicant would work 20 – 40 hours per week, this includes Monday - Sunday, holidays, and being on call. This position starts at $25.26 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must be age 18 by date of hire
- Must have a valid CDL with a safe driving record
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, fingerprinting, and pre-employment testing
- Ability to perform some strenuous physical labor, occasional heavy lifting of 50lbs, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to understand and comply with verbal and written instructions and to maintain a variety of records.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working for a highway department in construction, bridge maintenance, vehicle maintenance, and or experience working in a similar environment is helpful but not required.
