Accounting Assistant
I. What is the Opportunity?
We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to join a growing agricultural manufacturing and distribution business. This position reports directly to the Controller performing the accounting needs of seven business entities.
II. How will you spend your time?
- Manage receivable, payable, payroll, and tax processes
- Manage government tax filing requirements
- Maintain on-line driver log and reporting
- First contact for incoming office phone calls
- Assist in identifying, and implementing processes to increase efficiency
- Other duties as assigned
III. We are interested in you if you have the following:
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years Accounting or Bookkeeping
- Proficient A/P and inventory accounting
- Preferred A/R, payroll, Federal and State business tax filing
- Requires proficiency with QuickBooks
- Prefer experience with Sage, Peachtree, or Great Plains software
Education: Prefer Associates degree in Accounting
Skills: Proficient English written and oral communication,
Attributes: Personable, efficient, detail and accuracy oriented
Screening: Background check and employment verifications

- Compensation: $22 to $25 hr., DOE
